Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. She is an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation at times. She was hired by ESPN in the year of 2016. The child of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since the time she turned nine. It is this skill that allowed her to get her first role as an Univision producer assistant Miami. In Miami, she was a producer for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Her duties as an anchor on sports and weather was often requested. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's affiliate station in Dallas. There she had more accountability. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Aside from this, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as anchor of the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same role, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta Collins' parents were born in Veracruz Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born on the 22nd of November the 22nd of November, 1985. She has a sister. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo, naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 from kidney cancer. While on a vacation Antonietta was staying at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Antonietta still a senior at high school and was clear about the career she wanted to pursue. When she was deciding whether Mount Union would be a good fit for her Antonietta went to visit the university. The result was that she liked the campus and that the school provided the degree she was looking for. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to attend the University to pursue a degree in Media Studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a part of her class, developed an ongoing friendship with the student. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his passion for journalism.
